Hotel Velvet 1889

The Hotel was quiet.

There was no aiport pickup as stated. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom no towels as well: The overall hotel appearance was not as the pictures were on the site. The staff was somewhat nice. But try to charge for unnecessary things.

Nothing didn’t get the chance to actually see the property

I arrived on time and they told me we don’t have any available room

The location is strategic & the staff are so nice. They are really kind & helpful especially MR. Tony & Mohamed / Ahmed the one in the reception.

It’s not really easy to find & the don’t have elevator

Good location for shopping area. Nice man Mahmoud. A good man to bring a tourist to the Pyramids.

A bit of noise from traffic, but not too bad.

Noisy

Not English spoken, you have to ask about towels, with 1 that was completely destroyed (hole), very very noisy. Bed inconfortable, and bedroom not cleaned, with mosquito marks on the wholes.It’s not so close from the big center, but close to the underground.

Simple nice facility. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. Amr is amazing and understanding, he showed us another room and gave an extra hour for checkout. Amira and Donia were also responsive and really nice. Overall good vibes in a downtown hotel.

stay away from this hotel !!

The place is very bad, uncomfortable, noisy, unclean, bathrooms are very bad, the internet is weak, and there are insects everywhere. Don't be fooled by the price, it is really bad to the extreme.

Loved the staff - both Abdul's were so helpful and gave Ritz Carlton level service. They were so friendly, welcoming and helpful! We loved the location right in the heart of the city!

Staircase up to the hotel is very dark and dirty - but the room was clean. There was some broken furniture in the room and the breakfast room is dark.

Bad

The worst hotel ever, it is very dirty, the staff are rude and their behavior is disrespectful. The rooms are not clean and the furniture is old. Everything was very bad. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The worst not even a hotel ever.

The entrance was disgusting, dirty, service was bad. Rooms weren’t clean the washroom walls weren’t fully closed, no blankets no soap. Definitely not a 3 star hotel Id rate it a 1. I’m wondering why this horrible hotel was posted as a 3 star hotel when it’s not even a motel.

Location was Perfect. Egyptian Museum , Tehrir Square, Khan Al Khalili were only few Minutes Miles away. Fast Food, KFC and Restaurants were very near.

Room was too too Noisy. Bed Sheets were not even changed and they have stains of "lipstick" on them. Room was Not cleaned or sanitized. Mosquitoes were there to have Party With You. No Sign Board for the Hotel. Hotel has Smelly Entrance. Breakfast was not even served. I asked for it 2 Times and they said wait for it. Bath Room has no Ceiling so no privacy and WC was very uneasy to sit on it. No toiletries were there which was mentioned in Booking. Waste of Money.

It was dirty, everything was disgusting, the bathroom didn’t have the ceiling.

the staff was very welcoming and friendly. the room was clean and organized. the hotel is located in a very convenient spot for shopping and easy access to transportation to all the tourist locations.

Workers of Hotel Velvet was so helpfull. Breakfast was good, local. We reccomend this hotel!

Exceptional

Amr and Abdo are nice and helpful guys.Rania is a good room service and kitchen chief.Nice stay.

The shower.

I got eaten alive by mosquitos & bedbugs. There was no ceiling to the bathroom, the tv didn’t work, there was so much noise in the hotel at all hours, the towels and blankets didn’t seem clean/washed, there was no balcony, no clear times for breakfast, the building and entrance are gross, the lock for the door is not very secure, the curtains look dirty and unwashed,the room was small, and there was no trash can in our room at all.

Breakfast was ok, location was great, shower and bed ok. In terms of price and location it’s ok. The people were friendly

Photos don’t show the reality of the bedrooms. Balcony isn’t what was expected, it looks into the back of old buildings. Would be good if they did a temperature check on guests as we are in the middle of a pandemic.

Booking cheated us by not checking whether it is a 3 star hotel .... or maybe booking .com does.bot know what is 3 star hotels ... or knowingly they have mentioned it as a 3 star hotel when it's not even 1 star
